Barbara Lattanzi's films, videos, Internet art, and generative software works have been screened and exhibited widely, including venues such as the Ann Arbor Film Festival, the European Media Art Festival, The New Museum (New York City), Burchfield-Penny Arts Center (Buffalo, New York), FILE Festival (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Harvestworks (New York City), Microscope Gallery (Brooklyn), Transmediale (Berlin), and Museum of Modern Art (New York City). Lattanzi’s work has roots in Chicago where she studied at the School of the Art Institute with Imagist painter, Ray Yoshida, and attended the cinema lectures of Stan Brakhage. Later, she studied with Hollis Frampton and Tony Conrad at the Center for Media Study (Buffalo, New York) and participated actively in Buffalo artist-run organizations such as Hallwalls, CEPA, and Squeaky Wheel. During that period, she also took part in artist/activist collaborative groups including 8mm News Collective and the Media Coalition for Reproductive Rights. She currently teaches at the School of Art and Design of the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, where she is developing a Studio for Natural Computing, in her role as Associate Professor of Animation and Interaction Design.
