Snow Yunxue Fu (b. 1987) is a practicing artist from Guiyang, China and currently living and working in Chicago. She is working on her Master in Fine Art degree in Film, Video, New Media, and Animation Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also held undergraduate degrees from Sichuan Normal University in Chengdu, China, Southeast Missouri State University, and obtained a B.F.A. from SAIC. Fu works in multiple mediums such as experimental digital 3-D animations, painting, sculpture, and installation. Fu has showed her work both in China and the U.S., such as the West Village Gallery in Chengdu, the Black Door Gallery in Cape Girardeau Missouri, Foundry Art Center in St. Charles, as well as the Sullivan Gallery in Chicago, and Santa Fe New Media Art Festival in New Mexico. She has also helped curate exhibitions for the Chinese Guiyang Stars Children’s Art School, a private art school owned by Fu’s parents for 25 years. In recent years, the students’ artwork has been shown in the at the Art Institute of Chicago Ryan Education Center, the Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland California, and the Foundry Art Center in St. Charles Missouri. Fu interned in the Art Institute of Chicago Ryan Education Center Family Program for a year in 2011. Besides working on her M.F.A. and being the teaching assistant for classes such as intro to Experimental 3D Animation, Atmospheric Animation, and Core at SAIC, Fu is now also working as a gallerist in the Autumn Space Gallery located in Chicago, as well as interning at the Zhou B Art Center as an education program development intern.
