New York New York Happy Happy

the New Museum

Thu Nov, 7 2013, 8PM

Rhizome presents New York New York Happy Happy (NY NY HP HP), a fictional benefit by artist Ed Fornieles. In this immersive performance, guests will adopt a heightened persona and lose themselves in the glamorous world of a New York charity gala. The project will map the narratives and character types that define the city’s society life onto a social event and its online representation, with inspiration coming from film and television—from Patrick Bateman to Woody Allen, Sex and the City to Girls. These worlds will intersect, blending and clashing as the evening runs its spiraling course.

Upon purchasing tickets, participants will be contacted by the artist and given specific roles with certain cues to be performed over the course of this dizzying evening of charity and glamour.

Ticket Levels:
Bronze ($50): Admission for one + conversation with the artist
Silver ($100): Admission for one + access to VIP area + bronze-level benefits
Gold ($250): Admission for one + public acknowledgment at the event + silver-level benefits
Platinum ($500): Admission for three + dedicated arm candy for the event, any gender + option to play yourself + gold-level benefits
Black ($5,000, limit one): You will be the evening’s honoree
