So... Team Rhizome™ got together yesterday to determine the winner of our FAVICONTEST and I must admit that it was intense... a little too intense. After many long hours of screaming, clawing, and hair-pulling we were no closer to reaching an agreement on which of the user-submitted favicons to ordain as victor as we were when we started. Out of this ideal-driven hate-fest, the decision was made to share the spoils and select several favicons to use for Rhizome.org. So... in the coming weeks we are going to generate a 'favicon randomizer' that will load one of the following four favicons everytime the page is loaded. So without further ado, I present the winner(s) of FAVICONTEST:
In closing, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who submitted a design. We were truly overwhelmed by how many good options there were to choose from and totally honored that you took the time to participate.
There would be nothing more superfluous, annoying and distracting than an animated favicon.
HAHAHA wow strong words there brosef, i for one think a giant bedazzled cock on my forehead would be at least twice as superfluous, annoying and distracting.
there's nothing more " " than a h8tr MJC
:D
surprising picks!

Wow! Thanks Team Rhizome! I feel honored to be in the winners circle and embarrassed to have submitted the only non-animated favicon of the bunch. I only wish that my design could have been more superfluous, annoying and distracting.
Let it be known that "my" favicon is based on a mathematically rigorous-sounding graphic created by Wikipedia User:Billkendrick. The Wikipedia description of the source image reads as follows: "A colour grid showing a 8 bits per pixel (256 color) image composed of "true color" values: 3 bits of red, 3 bits of green and 2 bits of blue."
The licensing information indicates that the image is in the public domain and may be used "for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law." So I went nuts and downsampled the image to 16x16 px. Each color on the original grid takes up exactly one pixel of the favicon.

Thanks User:Billkendrick! This one's for you!!!
nice ones, boys !!!@@!!!!!!!
not so interesting for me , they can do little more . need more efforts to better results.
I wasn,t even aware there was a favicon contest? Hmmm? Did i miss anything? What was the PRIZE if you win?….I,m completely living so isolated and recluse and far away from the Big City and the bright lights I can actually see the stars at nite especially on cold clear nites during the winter when the humidity levels are at thier lowest. I can clearly see star clusters and the milky way cloud across the expanse of the cosmos. Carl Sagen comes to mind, BILLIONS and BILLIONS of galaxys etc. The meteor showers if they happen to be on schedule and the weather is right are amazing. I,ve seen other things but I,m reluctant to share about that. I,m hoping they will come and get me and take me to another world that is safer, less toxic carcinogenic radio-active and insane. My belief is collectively we presently fail as a benevolent and wise species in the universe. Perhaps we are an inferior sub-species hybrid species left to our own demise? A terrible experiment gone awry? YAK ReMiX (The End)
congrats danny and jude! (my friends) and the otheres too i guess
