The School of Art at CalArts have introduced a new two-year program MFA in Art and Technology. According to the press release, "The new program is designed to encourage students to investigate the critical and creative issues that arise in art practices that employ the use of new technologies and digital media. The students will also be encouraged to pursue work that crosses traditional mediums, enabling the integration of hybrid art forms with online strategies and performance...The Art and Technology Program in the School of Art will involve faculty and visiting artists whose work engages computer programming, web based systems, digital image making, digital sound design, immersive installation, digital video, interactive multimedia and hybrid performance. The curriculum will be integrated with studio based practices and open forums designed to foster dialogue between students and faculty."
