Artists Wanted presents The Power of Self 2011
From Picasso to Bruce Nauman, Frida Kahlo to Jeff Wall, Giacometti to Alice Neel - the self has been the subject of endless exploration by the world's greatest artists, allowing the discovery (and re-discovery) of artists' personal identities and artistic styles.
In celebration of creativity, individuality and self-empowerment, Artists Wanted announces the launch of their annual Power of Self competition, an international search for the most compelling, captivating and demonstrative works in self-portraiture.  Artists, Photographers, Designers and Creators in all mediums, from all across the globe, are invited to share their stories, talents and visions for a chance at a reward of a lifetime:
One artist will be selected to receive One Year of His/Her Life, Paid For by Artists Wanted, an opportunity to solely dedicate a year to personal and creative growth.   The Grand Prize Package also includes a New York City Gala Reception, a Lifetime Website from the exclusive portfolio hosting platform See.me, a Published Q&A on ARTINFO.com, and the Ultimate Self-Portrait - a gallery-stretched DNA Portrait from DNA11.
The artist whose portfolio garners the highest number of votes and average rating will receive the People’s Choice Award of $2,500 cash and a Feature on the Artists Wanted Newsletter.
In addition, the first 100 participants will receive a custom, limited-edition notebook, provided by Artists Wanted and Moleskine®.

The Jury Panel:
Dave Pitman, Co-founder of Artistaday
Scott Indrisek, Senior Editor of Modern Painters
Emma Allen, Associate Editor of ARTINFO.com
