3rd Ward is giving you, yes you, the chance to take our highly-acclaimed Metal Working class for super-cheap.

This four session, twelve-hour intensive will introduce you to in-depth welding techniques including oxyacetylene and stick welding, TIG and MIG as well as Plasma Cutting. Guided by hands-on practice from instructor Wendy Klemperer, the group will discuss the different industrial and conceptual properties of metals commonly used in sculpture and fabrication and work together on project ideas to be completed over the course of the next three sessions. Information about where to find scrap metal or how to order new metal will also be provided during the first class.

For the remainder of the course you will work on your approved projects with one-on-one attention from Wendy. Technical knowledge will be reinforced through direct application and practice so by the end of the fourth session you will have not only achieved a new level of confidence with these various forms of welding, but you will have finished project a of your very own design.

Also included in the class is a 4-day shop pass so you can use our facilities during the course of the workshop in order to finish their piece by the last day of class. Nothing like having homework in a metalshop…
