||| So many straight-up lines of different widths standing to attention and rigid-like. ||| Stripes!!! ||| On tigers, zebras, jumpers, socks and hats. ||| The bars of a prison or a cage? ||| Codes for commodities? Yes, we know that. ||| Roads less-traveled (the high road? The low?); parallel universes, analogous narratives. Side by side but never intersecting? ||| Welts on the skin of someone's back – applied amorously or with vengeance? ||| Fences and boundaries; the edges of an enclosure. ||| Telephone or electricity poles dug deep into the ground, reaching into the sky and stretching to the horizon. ||| Have you earned your stripes, soldier? ||| A forest: trees reaching their fingertips up and their roots down, growing alongside one another like life long friends. ||| Human beings lined up in a queue, waiting and waiting (For a bank teller? Emergency food rations?) ||| Skyscrapers: modernity and the concrete-and-glass race to touch the heavens. ||| The lines of a notebook put on its side. ||| Japanese text, running vertically down a blank page. ||| Pinstripes on the suit of a banker rushing to a meeting. ||| A bundle of sticks. ||| Candles without flames. |||
What does ||| mean? How would you respond to this "theme"? You are free to interpret ||| in any way that you wish, to speak to or against it, to explore or ignore it.
