Exit Art presents, in conjunction with the exhibition Electric Lab
(on view through November 17):
The Loud Objects and Torino:Margolis
Thursday, November 1
8pm to 10pm
FREE
The Loud Objects perform live electronics. Their music sets are built in front of the audience on an overhead projector - from scratch - with electronics and soldering irons. Their components are microprocessors (Atmel), a 3V battery and an audio-out jack.
Torino:Margolis will present "Duet by Proxy," a dance piece utilizing neuromuscular stimulation to introduce multiplicity into a single body. The audience is given remote-controls that operate neuromuscular stimulators that are attached to a dancer. The audience controls some of the dancer's body, and the dancer responds with the limbs remaining under the dancer's control. Hence, the single body ends up performing a duet. Choreography by Kelly Bartnik.
