Marginalia+Lab will select through international call 3 residents to develop creation and experimentation works in art and technology throughout two months in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Of those, one will be local, one from other regions in the country and one from abroad.
Submissions are online and will be open until February 1st 2011. To the selected artists, the program will offer space and physical structure to develop the work, a grant and food support, besides lodging for those from other places. The call is open to anyone, of any expertise, willing to develop works in the field of interest of the lab.
Marginalia+Lab seeks, with this program, to promote opportunities for the deepening of aesthetical and technical researches, in a direct contact with the local community of artists and developers of many different fields. Thus, throughout the residency period, meetings, workshops and other interchange activities will be promoted with the participation of selected artists and open to the general public.
This call continues the proposal of the lab that, since 2009, stimulates the research and experimentation in art and technology with activities that, beside residencies, include workshops, meetings, exhibitions and events. In 2010, Marginalia+Lab inaugurated its new space in the region of Santa Efigênia, Belo Horizonte, which now provides a physical space to hold its activities.
