CCP e-Media Gallery calling for for NET ART WORKS, CD-ROM & DVD

The Centre for Contemporary Photography (Melbourne, Australia) is
currently calling for works for exhibition in its e-Media Gallery for
late 2002 and 2003. Established in 1997 as a dedicated space for the
display of digital art, and initially limited to CD-ROM works,
e-Media has recently been refurbished to enable the display of net
art, through broadband internet connection.

The e-Media Gallery is currently curated by Daniel Palmer, and
exhibits a range of Australian and International digital art. Artists
who have recently exhibited include Natalie Bookchin, Alan Currall,
Constance De Jong, Tony Oursler & Stephen Vitiello, Forced
Entertainment, Ross Gibson & Kate Richards, Uninvited Guests, and net
artists John Tonkin, Mark Amerika and Melinda Rackham.

e-Media Proposal Information
The e-Media Gallery operates differently to CCP's three main
exhibition spaces, accepting proposals on an ongoing basis.
Preference may be given to works engaging with the idea and practice
of 'photomedia'. Expressions of interest for completed works should

e-Media Technical Details
The e-Media Gallery consists of a Macintosh G4 and 17" monitor, with
soundsticks and bass subwoofer, as well as ADSL Internet connection.
The computer can also run DVDs. The small Gallery, which features a
wooden facade with a cut-out for the mouse and the monitor screen,
acts as a 'digital portal' at CCP and is visited by hundreds of
visitors each week.

Exhibiting Details
CCP promotes all exhibitions on its full colour monthly invitation
brochure, on the CCP website and through a range of media channels.
Openings are held on Thursday evenings, and shows normally run for
about a month. CCP is able to offer an artist's fee of A$100 for
exhibiting work in the e-Media Gallery.
