Escalator Performing Arts is an exciting opportunity for emerging / mid-career artists, companies and creative producers (based in the East of England) who think that a period of structured support will enable them to develop artistically and explore new market places for their work.

The support offered:

Escalator artists, companies and creative producers will receive tailored support based on their individual needs and, where appropriate, be supported to apply to Grants for the Arts to fund their development programme. Escalator Performing Arts provides time and space for testing, playing, taking risks, making mistakes, collaboration and peer learning. With this in mind the following creative and business support is possible through the programme:

Targeted mentoring from practicing artists, producers and venue representatives to help you achieve your aims.
Opportunities to ‘go and see’ work by other artists / companies (regionally, nationally, internationally).
Support to develop a new company or collective.
Studio space to try out ideas and have fun in a supportive environment.
Support to explore new directions, techniques, collaborations or areas of working.
Opportunities to scratch work in the East region and beyond and receive feedback.
Support to explore international collaborations and co-productions.
Support to experiment with theatre ‘gaming’ and new technology.
One-on-one surgeries with RFO’s to develop your vision, establish networks and make connections.
