Presentations will include:

R. Mark Adams: "Auralizing DNA"

The data collected as part of the human genome project is not only a remarkable repository of scientific data, but also a fascinating source of artistic inspiration and materials. A brief overview of the kind of data that is in the genome project will be presented, as well as how the complex layers of information encoded in DNA sequences can be used to "auralize" biologically-meaningful forms in new and interesting ways. Somewhere between a scientific technique and Musique concrete is a new fascinating realm to explore.

Jon Singer: "DIY Ultraviolet Lasers"

Jon Singer is with the Joss Research Institute where he works on inexpensive and easily-constructed nitrogen laser designs for reasonably high performance, as well as doing tests on pumping dye lasers with UV from nitrogen lasers.

Roberto Bocci: "Cycles, Elements, and Spaces in Between"

Roberto Bocci will present a short video documentation of an interactive installation inspired by 4th and 5th century Greek philosophers Empedocles and Aristotle who identified four fundamental elements: earth, air, fire and water.

Tim Slagle: "Powerful LED Experiments"
