Digital Preservation Fellow

The Digital Archive Assistant at Rhizome is involved primarily with the maintenance, development, and expansion of the Rhizome archives (http://archive.rhizome.org), which includes archival copies of artworks curated into the Rhizome ArtBase, our archive of digital art (http://rhizome.org/artbase/). Duties will include helping us inventory the ArtBase, ensuring that the ArtBase's record system is current, repairing or recovering archived digital artworks/websites, and communicating with artists about the best methods for preserving their work. 
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be have some experience in web development/programming and Unix-based operating systems (Linux/Mac OSX). The position requires strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript, and some experience with a server-side, dynamic programming language like Python, PHP, or Ruby. Familiarity with contemporary/new media/digital art is also highly desirable.
