The International Authors Lodge is an independent non-profit association based in Budapest, Hungary. The association encourages awareness and exploration of personal and creative development as well as cross-cultural exchange of ideas. The International Authors Lodge aims to generate and encourage exchange between local artists and international artists, believing that this interaction is a unique way to gain new experiences while encountering other view points and perspectives concerning contemporary art.

The idea of the Lodge is the creation of a temporary space that may be used for experimentation and reflection. People that come and use the Lodge are Authors in the sense that they originate and give existence to their artistic production, whatever form Authorship may take. In this sense the Lodge is not affiliated to any one art medium but leaves the boundaries open to be defined by each new resident be they a visual artist, a writer or a musician.

Artists will present a public exhibition or performance as the product of the residence period.
