Reopening of Arteleku

On the 21st of June Arteleku, the modern art centre in Donostia -San
Sebastian, is reopening. Since it first opened 15 years ago, Arteleku has
taken great interest in changing and evolving. As a result, this new phase
is a way for the centre to adapting to new artistic forms of production.
The most significant change has occurred in the building that has been
reorganised, but the centre has also got a brand new visual identity in
keeping with the changes that have occurred over the last few years.

However, the aim of this celebration is not just to present the end of some
building work. Arteleku is starting up again with a tight programme packed
with interesting projects. On the 21st itself we will be giving the
starting signal for the memory project. This is a project for the reopening
of Arteleku: an ever-changing presentation of institutional material and
work by artists; recycling and popularising artwork in times of change;
visions of wiping out memory; in-situ interventions in the new building and
a special opportunity to open a new season and collectivise experiences.
