GLAAD OUTAuction NYC 2009
In/Out: An Exhibition and Auction Celebrating GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists
Deadline: EXTENDED to October 14th, 2009
GLAAD OUTAuction NYC 2009 is seeking artists, both emerging and established, to submit their work for this annual exhibition and benefit art auction, taking place November 15th, 2009, at Metropolitan Pavilion, NYC.
Please visit our website (www.glaad.org/outauction2009) for more information and the artist submission and guidelines form. All are encouraged to apply and work of any nature will be considered by the curatorial committee. The theme of OUTAuction NYC 2009 will be “In/Out: An Exhibition and Auction Celebrating GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists.” Artists are encouraged to consider this broad theme, which can be interpreted in a variety of ways, such as:
1) The spatial aspects of “in” and “out”: inside and outside, internal and external.
2) In/Out of the Closet. The impact of being on either side of the closet upon artistic production.
3) Inside/outside “the art scene.” How do you define “the scene” and where do you see yourself and your art practice in relation to it?
4) In/Out: An exploration of sexuality and erotic themes
Awards for Best Emerging Artist will be selected in three categories on the night of the event: painting/drawing, photography, and three-dimensional art.
OUTAuction 2009 marks the eighth year that this exciting art event is being held. Your donation helps further an important cause and we need your help to make this yet another success!
