Call for Entries: Digital to Physical
Exhibition December 8, 2009 - January 29, 2010
The Anderson Ranch Arts Center is calling for submissions for Digital to Physical ,
a juried exhibition of 2D, 3D, and single-channel time based work created using
digital technology. The exhibition will be juried by Associate Curator of Boulder
Museum of Contemporary Art, Kirsten Gerdes Stoltz and will be featured in the
Patton-Malott Gallery.
Submission and Exhibition Schedule:
Exhibition is December 8, 2009 - January 29, 2010
• Deadline for submittals is October 28, 2009
• Notifications by email will be made November 11, 2009
• Artwork due in Gallery November 23, 2009
• opening reception December 8, 2009 (in conjunction with our Holiday Open House event)
• exhibition closes January 29, 2010
• All work must be picked-up by the artist or returned using a pre-paid Fed Ex slip provided by the artist by
February 2, 2010
Exhibition Guidelines:
Artists are invited to submit 2D, 3D, web based and single-channel time based work that utilizes digital
technology in concept and process. We encourage submissions from across a diverse spectrum of media.
If selected, artists will be responsible for shipping expenses to and from the gallery. For time-base work,
Anderson Ranch will have 20” diagonal Apple computer monitors and head phones to display artwork. 2D and
3D artwork must be installation ready and cannot be larger than 50” in any direction or 72” in height for
sculptures.
Submission Requirements:
• Completed entry form
• $35 entry fee
• CD with 3-5 JPEG images or up to 3 min. QuickTime file of time-base work
• 100 word bio and/or CV
• Artist’s Statement
Juror:
Kirsten Gerdes Stoltz, Associate Curator of Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art
Kirsten Gerdes Stoltz joined the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art as the Associate Curator in the summer
of 2005. The last fourteen years she has focused on contemporary art programming, education and
administration for medium and large art institutions. Beginning in 1995 as the coordinator of the visual arts
department at the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, she developed a deep
interest in funding and developing large and small art projects. Her work in Santa Fe included, promoting and
supporting emerging artists and art institutions, building a network of emerging young leaders in the field of
contemporary art and community art projects for both children and adults. Art organizations she has worked at
include, the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art as the Assistant Director, the Center for Contemporary
Art, Santa Fe, serving as Interim Director, the Marion Center for Photographic Arts (Santa Fe), Administrative
Associate, and the art department at the College of Santa Fe as a Special Projects Manager.
