Self Funded Residency Opportunity for Emerging Artists in Cape Town, South Africa

Good Hope Art Studios in collaboration with Cape Town International Residencies and Createbus call all self funded emerging artists to apply for a residency at the historical Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town, South Africa.

The residency will run at the Good Hope Art Studios at the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town, in the city centre. The available studio space is located in a large open room, Adam Tas, that can accommodate up to nine artists sharing comfortably.

Objective
The objective of this residency is to provide emerging visual artists with the opportunity to develop their innate talent outside of their comfort zones and to acquire international standard in their work. This residency will enable artists to learn new skills by exchanging techniques and ideas and interacting with other artists. Simultaneously it will allow for building new friendships, networks and a working holiday.

All visiting artists are required to take part in outreach programmes and to hold an open studio day or exhibition towards the end of their stay.

Artists Application Procedure and Requirements

1.Submit your application to GoodHope Art via email or by post by the due date
2.Your application entails the following:
•□ Completion of the attached Application Form
•□ At least 5 photographs of recent works
•□ Curriculum Vitae
•□ Artist’s Statement
•□ Motivation letter
•□ Copy of Passport
•□ A photo of yourself (this will be used on our website if you get accepted)
•□ 2 written references
3.You will be notified by email of the outcome of your application.
4.Selection will be made during September 2009
5.You will need to be in possession of a valid passport
