Nude 2010 entry deadline October 31, 2009
The human figure in art is timeless and universal and has reverberated throughout art history and contemporary art practice. Contemporary artists have refocused our gaze on personal identity as a viable and engaging conduit for explorations of modern life, modern identity, and the social and sexual politics that impact us all. With that stated, artists are invited to submit images of their work, in any medium, along with an artist statement for consideration by the selection committee for the twenty-fourth annual Nude, presented by the Lexington Art League (LAL). While all work will be considered, special consideration will be paid to conceptual and new media art. Esther Randall, sculptor and Associate Professor of Art at Eastern Kentucky University, and Boris Zakic, painter and Professor of Art at Georgetown College will jury the exhibit. The exhibition will be on view January 16—March 28, 2010.
