NANO: THINK SMALL
Calling all miniaturists, self-assemblers, molecular manipulators and sub-micron philosophers…

The Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin requests proposals for works to be included in a new exhibition and festival on nanoscale phenomena and related art, science, and technology. Focussed on the dreams, nightmares, and real achievements of this broadly interdisciplinary field, the exhibition will explore what it means to act in a realm we can never see directly and how our emerging science and technology is enmeshed with some of our deepest hopes and fears. NANO will not only sample the tools, techniques, and applications of nanoscience, but its underlying metaphors, and what those may hold for our understanding of ourselves and our place in the world. Opening 25th September 2009, NANO will run for nearly three months along with a full complement of related performances, talks, debates, workshops and other events.
