The exhibition is on view February 17 - March 22 with an Artists’ Reception and Artists’ Talk to scheduled within that time. Exhibition events are free and open to the public.
The critically acclaimed Juried Annual is an exhibition of member artists that consistently showcases the best new work in the region. Original works are juried by digital submissions by a national or international curator. Hundreds of artists submit work digitally in a variety of media (including painting, photography, sculpture, textile, glass, installation, digital, installation and performance art) for consideration, and over 1,000 pieces are reviewed for exhibition inclusion by an esteemed member of the Bay Area art world.
Curator, critic, and publisher Ali Subotnick recently served as co-curator of the 4th Berlin Biennial for Contemporary Art and is currently serving as curator for the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. She has written about art and culture for Frieze, Parkett, ARTnews and Art Review. Pro Arts is honored to have Ali Subotnik’s remarkable curatorial vision and insight for Juried Annual 2009.
