From its inception in the mid-90's the Design and Technology Department of Parsons School of Design envisioned a learning space where rigorous intellectual discourse would be embellished with the playfulness of vernacular whims, a laboratory where experimentation would sparkle with shining surprises, and a battlefield of windmill-fighting against the odds of commonality. It would be the catalyst for inspiration and a test bed for bravery and adventure.

Innovation, exploration, collaboration and social activism drive the Design and Technology Program at Parsons. The Chelsea Art Museum Exhibition includes interactive installations, responsive environments, human - machine interfaces, sound experimentation and good "old" analog works. These projects explore new aesthetic sensibilities by means of technologies, express concerns about the social and cultural conditions in which we live, and, via artistic strategies, strive to create meanings in a highly complex and polemic society.

The exhibition will be on view from April 13th through April 19th.
