CLAUDIA HARDI: »AS WE MAY THINK«A FIELD TRIP THROUGH ELECTRONIC ARCHIVES OR THE (HI)STORIES OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

In a lecture on March 3, 2005, at 8 pm Claudia Hardi gives an introduction to the »as we may think«-Database developed by her and on the exploratory mode of the research behind it. She allows insights into the the correlation between popular culture, computer science, network communities, the comic and game culture and the history of the internet. She also deals with different cultural aspects of new communication technology. Please find further information on www.awmt.info.
In the workshop held on Friday and Saturday, 4 and 5 of March 2005, she invites participants and visitors to track and interpret the already existing material in the database and to create new internet travelogues, sampling existing material with other new stories and content. These new internet travelogues will in part be published on www.awmt.net.
Lecture and workshop will be held in English.

Claudia Hardi (*1969, St. Gallen/Schweiz). Studies of architecture, urban design and art in public space at the Academy of Arts in Utrecht (Netherlands) and of fine arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Postgraduate studies at the Jan van Eyck Academy for Fine Arts, Design and Theory in Maastricht. Currently she works as a computer artist and multimedia designer in Maastricht/Netherlands, using the internet as a field for exploration. Claudia Hardi writes a web-log using the pseudonyms F.
