Visiting Assistant Professor in Digital Design
Position starting on August 1, 2009
Appointment Description
Dynamic program is seeking a full-time one-year replacement position to contribute to the Design Concentration. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching and considerable studio practice. Teaching responsibilities include a 3:3 course load consisting of 2 sections of Design II, an intermediate design class focusing on design fundamentals while introducing digital software and methods each semester; and one section of Introduction to Web Design and Interactive Web Design, on an alternating semester schedule. Introduction to Web Design is a 300- level course that includes html, css, and basic scripting. Interactive Web Design is a 500- level course that explores a range of media and interactivity through coding and Actionscript. The Art Department’s digital studio is state-of-the-art with 46 dedicated work stations with a complete complement of software and peripherals. It is staffed with a full-time technician, graduate student and undergraduate students. Three years of teaching experience or equivalent preferred. An MFA, significant exhibition record, and knowledge of theoretical and critical issues in the visual arts is required.
Effective Date: the appointment begins on August 1, 2009.
