What is this madness?

By the late '60s, seedy inner city theaters known as
"grindhouses" specialized in exploitation movies with
quantities of sex, drugs, and violence unsuitable for
mainstream consumption. Grindhouses would run double
(and sometimes triple) features of films around the
clock, with little or no time between films.

The Grindhouse Connection is an audiovisual exploitation
of exploitation films from the 60s and 70s. Selected
scenes from a dozen films are extracted, dissected,
transformed, and reassembled in real time, synchronized
to live electronic music. Visuals are augmented with a
custom tracking system that visualizes recurrent themes
in the films through dialog extraction.


Who are these sosolimited brothers?

sosolimited is an audiovisual artist crew comprised
of Timon Botez, Eric Gunther, Justin Manor, and
John Rothenberg. We design our own software and specialize
in audiovisual performance. We have performed in Cambridge,
New York, and the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria.
Our most recent project was reConstitution, a series of
live remixes of the 2004 presidential debates.
