“Feedback from fellow artists is so important. Loop Critique uses the metaverse to allow us to see each other's work, chat, and connect on multiple levels without the constraint of our global locations.” - Joelle McTigue, alumni of LAC
Loop Art Critique is an art project and residency that investigates the formulaic history of western studio art education and the current arts ecosystem. This platform aims to unite digital artists from diverse backgrounds, including different educational backgrounds, nationalities, races, genders, and life experiences. The focus is solely on the artwork, and all accepted artists will have the opportunity to provide and receive constructive feedback and criticism, which is often missing in the online art world.
Loop occurs over 2 months. 1 month of critiques with 1 month of exhibition preparation and reception. The exhibition will be up for 1 month additionally as the next group prepares. The Salon des Refuses is up throughout the residency for artists to use.
