WHAT: FREE TO THE PUBLIC—ONE NIGHT ONLY!!! New York-based Austrian artist Kurt Hentschlager creates large-scale immersive theatrical installations featuring compelling and deeply disturbing images using innovative visual and audio digital technology. Kurt Hentschlager has worked collaboratively with Ulf Langheinrich as a part of Granular-Synthesis. Hentschlager will present and discuss excerpts from Granular-Synthesis, their 2004 ZKM Digital Arts Edition DVD, and screen selections of his most recent individual work.

WHEN: Monday, January 24, 7PM

WHERE: Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts, Pace University,
3 Spruce Street (Between Park and Gold, closer to Gold).

WHY:Lower Manhattan Cultural Council is an essential part of Downtown’s
cultural landscape and principal player in its redevelopment - as it has been since 1973. With cultural planning, art services, funding opportunities and free events in the performing, visual and new media arts, LMCC is a leader in enriching New York City’s creative capital. Following the loss of their office, studio and programming venues at the World Trade Center, LMCC has re-emerged as a new and improved cultural force.

Granular Synthesis is one of the many exhibitions that LMCC is presenting downtown as part of their mission to bring art and culture into the revitalization of downtown Manhattan.
