BlackFlash Magazine's
“Moving” and “Still” Image Contest
In celebration of BlackFlash Magazine's 25th Anniversary year, and in recognition of our history of presenting original and innovative artist projects to readers across Canada and Internationally, we are proud to present SCENE 25 SEEN, a “Moving” and “Still” Image Contest focusing on contemporary, lens-based and new media art production in Canada.
Over the past year, the Editorial Committee has worked towards programming a trilogy of 25th anniversary issues thematically constructed around our byline: LENS (25.1); SITE (25.2); SCENE (25.3). As an extension of our mandate in supporting excellence and innovation in lens-based and new media art production, we are inviting participants to submit their original “still” and/or 30 second “moving” images that will use lens or a hybrid of lens & new media as a point of departure for presenting their interpretations of SCENE/SEEN. All entrants will be juried by an impressive roster of Canadian "art movers and shakers," all of whom have contributed uniquely to the production and presentation of photographic and new media arts in Canada. The winner in each category will be awarded a $500 prize as well as being featured in the magazine SCENE 25.3 and on our website.
The two categories available for entry are:
“Best Still Image”
“Best Moving Image”
