For its second issue, Asphalte Magazine is looking for submissions that deal with the theme of FILM broadly defined. Hollis Frampton famously said that film is anything that can be "put in a projector that will modulate the emerging beam of light." Submissions may be fiction or nonfiction and in any genre, including visual art and hybrid forms. We would love to be surprised. Please include a cover letter as part of your submission that explains what connection your work has to the theme of film, even if it is a tenuous one.
Submission length: 10 pages maximum + 1 page cover letter with a brief bio.
Submissions will close end of day January 31st.
Issue 2 will launch in May of 2022.
We hope to reply to your submission promptly. We are a small, volunteer staff, and we are charging a submission fee to help pay for the costs associated with this publication, including web hosting, etc., as well as a small honorarium for contributors. If you would like to submit but cannot afford the fee, please send an email to asphalte (dot) editors (at) gmail (dot) com.
We are looking forward to reading your work!
