The Digital Technology and Culture program at Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Teaching), Career track faculty position with a focus on Web Development and Design. The successful applicant is expected to teach undergraduate courses with an emphasis on creative and critical web development and design, interactive design, scripting, front-end development, information architecture and user experience; aid in the management and development of lab spaces; mentor students, work in collaboration with other units in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and be an active part of the DTC core faculty. The successful candidate will teach core courses in DTC (DTC 101, 201, 206, 475, 497) along with specific courses in the Web Development curricular track which explores the principles of web design, coding, information architecture, and usability in a global cultural context. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin the appointment on August 16, 2022. This is a three-year appointment with possibility of renewal.

The Digital Technology and Culture (DTC) program is an interdisciplinary program within the College of Arts and Sciences emphasizing humanistic understandings of technology, publicly engaged research, and creative production emphasizing social justice, anti-racist pedagogies, and decolonial methodologies.  DTC faculty combine creative production and critical inquiry with an emphasis on community engagement in various formats. The DTC program is a growing unit with several undergraduate tracks and a graduate certificate. Students in any track in the program receive instruction on engaged practice and critical approaches to a wide breath of theory, technology, and media.
