The work was inspired by COVID lockdowns last year and how most of us were confined to have a limited amount of time and radius from home to go for a walk. This was the case in most of Australia.
Walking became something different then - it became almost meditative, a time to focus on the physicality of what was around us. Places we whizz through or take for granted were being re-explored. We were witnessing daily, weekly the changes around us.
During this recent lockdown in Melbourne, Australia, I decided to reach out and re-awaken the Lockdown Walk. I am now accepting anyone who wishes to contribute worldwide.
I will transcribe these walks into text and be used in a final AI project after I have received descriptive walks from the public.
