Course Description
This course is a foundation course for 3D Art and the production of virtual environments. Its purpose is to familiarize the students with the 3D interface and build a working knowledge of the basic tools and skills needed to design and create 3D artwork and navigable virtual environments. This course combines practical instruction in 3D modeling and game development with theoretical inquiry into the world of narrative environments.

Course Goals
Navigate a virtual 3D space interface
Create 3D geometry using shapes, primitives, compound objects and editable poly tools
Create and manage surfaces and material properties
Understand 3D texturing tools
Create and manage 3D lights
Understand 3D workflow for game development
