  • Deadline:
    Dec. 30, 2020, noon
  • Location:
    online

Open call for submissions to IMMEMORY, an ongoing online group exhibition dedicated to COVID-19. IMMEMORY is a long-term digital curation project that exhibits and archives creative and thoughtful responses to the changing pandemic crisis from around the world. The IMMEMORY curatorial team is looking for submissions about creative responses to the COVID-19 crisis. Submissions have no limitation in terms of format or length: prose, poetry, artworks of any medium are welcomed. We're especially interested in hearing about how you have thoughtfully (re)examined things from unfamiliar angles during this pandemic.

“IMMEMORY”, in the sense that the current crisis produces many artifacts quickly forgotten, narratives rapidly changed, and perceptions constantly shifting. As the COVID-19 outbreak is profoundly shaking up the world, art remains a vital force to document what it means to live through this unprecedented moment and reflect on the lessons underscored by the current crisis.

Current version of the digital archive is live at www.covid-immemory.com, and the collection is growing. The collection welcomes works that have conceptual ground rooted in reasoned analysis, as well as works that are more direct, emotional responses to the disturbing events and circumstances. Ultimately, in these troubled times, we want to use art to foster a better understanding of the experiences of others, to transcend individual differences and cultivate a sense of empathy, and to raise awareness of shared values rooted in our humanity.
