The School of Visual Arts' MFA Computer Art host its Fall Open House on Saturday, November 13th, 2:00 - 4:00 pm at 133 West 21 Street, 10th floor, New York City.

Department Chair, Bruce Wands, will host an information session offering individuals the opportunity to learn more about the program, meet the MFACA staff, faculty and students, see samples of award-winning student work, and tour the department' facilities.

Please note that this is not a “drop-in” event, and the presentation will last for approximately one hour, with an hour for questions/answers and tours.

The MFA Computer Art department is dedicated to producing digital artists of the highest caliber. This is accomplished through a progressive curriculum, a faculty comprised of well-known working professionals, state-of-the-art facilities and our location in New York. Students follow a broad curriculum, including studio work, art history and programming. Areas of specialization include animation, installations, networked communications, and interactive multimedia. Interdisciplinary study is also encouraged. In 2004, two graduates won Student Academy Awards and alumnus Carlos Saldanha (93) received an Academy Award nomination. Graduate student creative work has also appeared in many international venues, including the SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater, Art Gallery and Screening Room, Prix Ars Electronica, Whitney Biennial, Annecy, Hiroshima and New York Animation Festivals. Students come from all over the world geographically and bring diverse cultural heritages and artistic influences to their studies. It is expected that graduates of this program will become leaders in redefining the computer art field and be instrumental in charting its future course.
