CALL FOR ART TO EXHIBITION AT VITENFABRIKKEN SCIENCE CENTER IN NORWAY

22 May 2008 the brand new science center Vitenfabrikken in Sandnes - Norway, will open the exhibition Abels Skethcbook.

Abels Sketchbook will explore the connections between mathematic, science, technology and art. The project will consist of an interactive exhibition, mediated tours, arrangements and collaborations. Children and Youth is their main target group, and the project will be developed in close collaborations with schools and university as well as artists, scientists and business companies.

The project is named after the mathematician Niels Henrik Abel, Norways uppermost scientist ever. The winner of the Abel prize 2008 will open the exhibition.

Vitensenteret is together with curator Hege Tapio from iolab - centre of electronic based art inviting artist working within or in relation to the following themes:


It is in the genes: artistic projects presenting the essence of DNA structure or making a reference to the subject.
Brain: representations of the brain or interactive art projects involving a specific use of the brain.
Energy: visualisations or concepts of energy
Light: all the specters this might be
Electromechanical: art projects making an approach to or making direct use of electromechanical features.
Logistics: visualizations or concepts
