Assistant Teaching Professor - Computer Art and Animation
The Computer Art and Animation program within the Department of Transmedia seeks a CG generalist to teach introductory and advanced courses in animation, particularly 3D computer animation. Successful candidate will be conversant with standard 3D animation workflows in Maya and Arnold, with Houdini, Zbrush, Substance Painter, or Unity experience and knowledge a plus. Teaching load is three course-sections per semester. Normally, two of those are sections of the same course. This is a one year appointment beginning August 19, 2019 and ending May 10, 2020. The Computer Art and Animation program is a diverse, dynamic program housed within the Department of Transmedia which also contains Film, Photography and Video Art. The program is largely focused on animation and gaming with 60 undergraduate students, eight MFAstudents, four full-time faculty members and several adjunct instructors. The Department of Transmedia, the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Syracuse University are interested in candidates who have the communication skills and cultural competencies to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues and community members.
