Welcome to University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Summer Arts Studio, an intensive one-week workshop taught by UW-Madison Art Department faculty in glass, printmaking, woodworking, painting/drawing, digital fabrication (digital/3D printing, laser cutting), metal sculpture or ceramics. All skill levels are welcome.
Learn techniques from world-renowned faculty innovators in fine art and craft traditions. Intimate classes and the daily routine (or meditation) of technique instruction and self-directed art-making time provides a uniquely rich art-making experience.
Enjoy daily workshops from 9am-5pm; further explore and develop your craft during open studio hours (7-10pm); join fellow attendees at evening art talks, social hours, and cultural events to connect and refresh; and explore the vibrant city of Madison on your own during plenty of down time.
Participants will also enjoy special Summer Arts Studio community dinners, curated social events, an exhibition of their work, opening dinner reception, and closing reception/party.
Lodging will be hosted at the luxurious Concourse Hotel featuring a spa, daily breakfast, and access to an array of dining, recreation, and entertainment.
Come join us for a special experience learning, making, and building community!
