Call for Artists
Future Witch collective is now accepting submissions for projection-based, performance and installation art for a non-profit fundraiser event taking place in Vancouver, BC, this Spring. Fundraising for the Open Privacy Research Society, the event will be an interdisciplinary art experience, featuring a curation of visual art and electronic music performers.
The mission of the Open Privacy Research Society is to conduct scientific research advancing the areas of privacy and anonymity as they relate to computer science and computer security, and to create and publish free and open source software that realizes our research and makes it accessible to the public. Open Privacy focuses on Digital Harm Reduction for marginalized communities, and approaches Privacy as digital Consent.
The theme of the works exhibited will center around cyber/xenofeminism, net neutrality, technoccultism, digital consent, queerness, and sex worker rights in the online sphere — particularly in relation to issues such as social media policies. Future Witch is an occult xenofeminist collective, focused on creating alternative futures using today and tomorrow’s tech, art, and magick. Submissions are open until March 20th, 2019. Please email submissions in the form of links or attachments with title, medium and a brief statement describing the work(s) to curator Miki Aurora at mikiaurora.info@gmail.com.
Thank you for your interest.
