  • Deadline:
    Jan. 31, 2018, 3:01 p.m.
  • Location:
Granoff Center for the Creative Arts 154 Angell Street Providence, RI

The Brown Arts Initiative (BAI) at Brown University seeks proposals for exhibitions during the 2018-19 programming season for display in the Perry and Marty Granoff Center for the Creative Arts. Home to the BAI, the Granoff Center is a state-of-the-art, multi-media facility that supports collaboration and experimentation among the arts, sciences and humanities. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the building houses two gallery spaces—the Cohen and Atrium Galleries—designed to present visual and multimedia art. In addition, the Granoff Center provides opportunities for the exhibition of experimental digital work through the use of interstitial spaces located on each floor of the five-story building.

The BAI invites curators, artists, faculty, alumni and Brown/RISD students to submit proposals for the exhibition of work in any media and/or combined media in the Granoff Center galleries and spaces. Proposals featuring traditional as well as new art forms are accepted, and experimental, interdisciplinary and emerging art forms are preferred. In addition, projects that address the theme of “Arts and the Environment” are encouraged. Please be advised that this open call is highly competitive and available spots are limited. Application deadline: January 31, 2018.
