Responsibilities
Focusing on design methods, research and pedagogy. A strong dedication to educating the next generation of interdisciplinary design thinkers and problem solvers by way of teaching courses across design disciplines, including introductory level courses.
Strong visual thinking and creative coding skills are essential expectations for this position. This position will focus on teaching courses across the design areas and may include: GD101 Creative Studio Methods, GD 105 Intro to Visual Design, GAM 240 Playgramming, ISM 210 Intro to Human-Computer Interaction, and ISM 220 Interactive Design and Prototyping. A core purpose of this position is to contribute to the integration of the School of Design’s design disciplines (User Experience Design, Game Design, Graphic Design, Experience Design, Human-Centered Design, Digital Communication and Media Design).
Required Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have a graduate degree with a proven commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate level or have professional equivalence in a related field. Record of research and/or professional practice is required. Successful applicants will teach theoretical and practical hands-on courses, and will be able to work with faculty and students collaborative projects.
