ECLIPSECORE

  • Location:
NAVEL 1611 S Hope St Los Angeles, CA 90015

ECLIPSECORE is a screening series featuring videos and animations by over 20 internationally recognized artists. The short works in the program are all made in response to the total solar eclipse darkening skies across America on August 21, 2017.

The LA edition marks the premiere of ECLIPSECORE, inviting worldwide engagement through the addition of an interactive planetary panel with astrophysicists and art technologists broadcast from NAVEL's on-site VR studio and livestream via navel.live.

Additionally, an outdoor screening of ECLIPSECORE will take place on Sunday, August 20th in the Oregon Desert at Signal Fire Arts. After the solar eclipse has passed Monday August 21st, ECLIPSECORE will launch an online exhibition via eclipsecore.org.

ECLIPSECORE is curated by Oregon-based artist Rick Silva and organized in collaboration with Ghosting TV (ghosting.tv) and WOAH (woahis.us). Program accompanied with a text by writer, and former Rhizome editor, Joanne McNeil.

ECLIPSECORE is free and all-ages. Complimentary drinks provided. Love being eclipsed in video art IRL? Contribute to our Eventbrite campaign (plus receive guaranteed seating)!: https://tinyurl.com/eclipsecore
