Sweet ‘Art is dedicated to the promotion of artists through the delivery of regular site-specific exhibitions. We are currently seeking artists who work in any medium including painting, illustration, sculpture, installation, print, photography and performance, to exhibit work as part of our next show GAME FACE.
All works must explore the theme of games and play. Artists will be asked to examine various aspects of the theme; manipulation and unexpected use of materials, ideas of childhood and learning through play, game theory, social interaction through play, and contemporary technology in online and VR gaming. As Sweet ‘Art operates from a feminist perspective, artwork will also be requested which considers the marginal role of women in gaming, and the sterotyping of women in the computer games industry and community.
GAME FACE will take place at the beautiful 47/49 Tanner Street Gallery, in the Bermondsey area of London, close to London Bridge and part of the South London creative hub, minutes away from White Cube. The exhibition will be installed by experienced curators. Invitations, press releases, promotion and opening reception/private view will be organized to the highest spec. along with the usual Sweet ‘Art freebies and surprises!
There is no fee to submit your work and those whose work is accepted will be asked to pay an exhibition fee of £55. You can read more about our fees and selection process on our website.
Works will need to be available between 28 June and 3 July 2017 and must dropped off at the venue by the artist or representative. The arty party will be on the evening of the 1 July and the event will run for the weekend of 1-2 July 2017.
