Conference on Visual and Computational Teaching and Learning

Educators are bringing together computing and the liberal arts and sciences to create new courses with a common theme of visual and computational creativity. Digitized visual representations of information are becoming ubiquitous and students need to know how to analyze and manipulate them effectively. This conference supports college educators in their efforts to discover and discuss new ways to combine computing and the liberal arts. The keynote speakers are Mark Guzdial and Joel Slayton who will address the synthesis of computer science and culture. The conference will offer papers on pedagogy and theory, and host workshops that highlight applications in the classroom.

Please consider presenting a paper or hosting a workshop. We encourage submittals both about experience and about planned or wished-for courses. Abstracts are due August 31, at the conference website: http://www.cofc.edu/~thinking .
