Assistant/Associate Professor, Interactive Media & Web Design

The Communications department at Lindenwood University–Belleville invites applications for the appointment of a full-time, annually renewable assistant or associate professor of Interactive Media and Web Design (IMWD) for August 2017. This nine-month faculty position will include teaching four courses per semester in the undergraduate IMWD curriculum. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of interaction design and interactive media technologies, and expertise to teach advanced interactive media courses in an area of specialization. Preference will be given to individuals with professional experience and an artistic practice in creating interactive experiences, and who can demonstrate flexibility and creativity in their approach to the academic experience. Involvement in departmental and university service, curriculum development and assessment, student recruitment, and student scholarship is expected.
The Interactive Media and Web Design program at Lindenwood University–Belleville is a young and rapidly growing degree program. Required Qualifications
- Terminal degree (MFA or PhD) preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- University teaching experience strongly preferred. Other instruction or presentation experience will be considered.
- Candidates with an artistic practice in addition to a portfolio of professional work will be given special consideration.
