CultureHub Mappathon™is a 2-day projection mapping marathon workshop. The students will create a projection mapping object, learning the latest projection mapping techniques and technologies.

The projection mapping technology can turn almost any surface into a dynamic video display. Specialized software, Modul8 and MadMapper, are used to create animation, warp and blend projected images, so they fit perfectly on irregularly shaped “screens”.

The students will receive a free 30-day full access of Modul8, MadMapper and Vezer.

DAY 1: Basic
• What is a projection mapping?
• Live Visual Animation: Making visual contents using Modul8.
• Map on Mask: Projection mapping with MadMapper.
• Introducing new features: Multiple Inputs, 3d Surfaces with realtime lighting and shadows, Fast Playback Engine, SVG import to animated lines
• Projection Mapping with Music using Vezer
• Introducing MiniMad: Installation without a computer

DAY 2: Making a Projection Mapping Installation
• Exercise & Producing a Projection Mapping Installation

REQUIREMENT
• Limited to 10 students
• No pre-knowledge of video art is required
• Technology oriented and committed students are preferred
• Modul8 and MadMapper only work for Mac computers
• A MacBook Air is not recommended
• A 16 gig of RAM is recommended minimum an eight gig of RAM
• Bring your projector
