1) UNFO
The Unstitute has uprooted, excavated and transposed itself once again in the search for new environments, this time mutating and contorting to the rhythms of the sleepy village of Tivenys, high in the verdant mountains of Catalunya, Spain. As we traverse the many rhizomatic domains and neural pathways of the internets to bring you the most challenging contemporary art makers and their practice, we reveal geographic, mental and technological intersections within the shifting territories of art, thought and experience.
Over the next few months, expect to receive our dispatches from this corner of the world as good as any other, in our current project - S'Pain...

2) THE PROJECTION ROOM
Laurel Beckman: Your Special Island
15/02/17 - 15/03/17
This month our online cinema The Projection Room sees the premiere of the challenging new work by US artist Laurel Beckman. In Your Special Island, brain-state activity from MRI imaging becomes conflated with the personal affects of sensory phenomena - memory, desire and shame. Queering this transient experience into the 'island' of the video-screen, Beckman lucidly explores the neurological quest to locate the empathy centres in the brain whilst effectively employing the pervasive inadequacy of perception to convey the experience of affect to the viewer through this screen or 'island'.

3) THE CUTTING ROOM
The Unstitute presents Tivenys01: Study with a Dog
15/02/17 - 15/03/17
The Unstitute has wandered between geopolitical boundaries and trespassed through linguistic regions before commencing construction of an experimental new site in Catalunya. 'Tivenys01' represents a descriptive line of territorial investigations in the tiny village of Tivenys - our new centre of investigation - excavating new openings through which The Unstitute can explore the extra-territorial existence of nomadology, encapsulated by the Catalan tongue.

4) UN[dis]CRIMINATE
Walls. Immigrants. Refugees. Bigotry. Wars. Borders. The territoriality of the species is again in sharp focus, quite at odds with the 'statelessness' of The Unstitute, and the artist responds - how?
The outlying buildings of The Unstitute are not guarded by anyone in particular, and often entrances sit wide open for anyone to see. But mainly the nomadic eruptions in disused or otherwise vague areas of The Unstitute appear of their own determination, and deterritorialize as long as they please.
UN[dis]Criminate is a new archive exploring these seismic shifts in geopolitics, vivisecting 21st Century Tribalism and the individuals' situation within - or more properly - without Statehood. Come into the temporary encampment to investigate for yourself, and consider submitting relevant content of your own...
