Digital America Issue no. 8 | Crooked Data Exhibition Call for Proposals

  • Deadline:
    Nov. 1, 2016, 9:11 p.m.

Digital America is now accepting submissions for Issue No. 8. We are an online journal that focuses on contemporary digital art and culture with an eye toward the American experience. We are looking for critical essays, film, artwork, sound art, design, and reviews that question, analyze, subvert, and/or hack the tools of digital culture and expand them into the art realm.

Additionally, Digital America is excited to be collaborating with University of Richmond Museums exhibition titled Crooked Data. The culmination of this effort will be a virtual gallery space in conjunction with the physical exhibition, and we are looking for digital art and critical essays that address the themes of the show—work that presents and uses data in non-traditional ways, gathers data not usually considered unconventional or insubstantial, or explores alternatives to standard data visualization forms and practices.

We encourage creative responses to these parameters as we understand the complexities of engaging “America” in a global, networked world. If you are interested in joining our contributor team, please contact us at info@digitalamerica.org. Submissions for the Crooked Data exhibition are due November 15th, submissions for issue 8 of the journal are due by November 1.

send all submissions and inquiries to info@digitalamerica.org.
