Particulate Matter is a public experiment in spatialized sound, using decaying and hacked technology as sound sources. It will be broadcast throughout McCarren Park from a series of FM transmitters. The space will be explored with discarded radios in hand, in order to hear the signals overlapping, fluctuating, and intruding upon one another. Participants will be encouraged to bring an FM radio, for a personal experience of the piece.
