Post Contemporary Emerging Artist Residency - Call for applications

The Post Contemporary, a non-profit arts organization housed in the historic Woodside Church & Chapel in the small, culturally rich city of Troy, New York, is accepting applications for residency beginning May 1 through June 30. Emerging and early career artists working in a diversity of style, medium (2-D, 3-D, 4-D), and concept are encouraged to apply. Application deadline is March 15 - http://thepost.org/residency.

The residency program features high-ceiling, adaptable studio space open 24 hours a day, weekly discussions and optional art outings, inclusion in annual exhibition, and free access to all Post Contemporary events. The living area is a shared space and includes lofted bedrooms, living room / library, dining room, and kitchen & bath.

Residencies include use of all Post Contemporary studios and equipment, including the wood shop and Tool Library. Time spent at the Post allows artists to revitalize their ideas, develop their work, meet peers and explore new options. This is a self-directed residency program with the opportunity to participate in 2016 scheduled Post Contemporary programs, including residency exhibitions, weekly critiques, Tool Library workshops, studio & museum visits, and outings to local art events.

Residency fees are a flat rate of $290/ week or $1150/ month and include single accommodation and access to all the Post Contemporary facilities and events. Residencies can be 2 weeks to 6 months. All returning artists receive a 15% discount on residencies.

The Post Contemporary provides awards to approximately 95% of Residents. Please apply by priority deadlines for consideration.
